Structure
The affairs of the SMWCW are administered by the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Captain. All are elected by the full membership on a biennial basis. These officers plus up to seven (7) squad leaders - one for each day of the week we patrol - serve as the executive board, which is the governing body of the organization. The President and Captain oversee all day-to-day activities and are the liaison with the Sheriff's Office. The squad leaders maintain weekly driver schedule assignments and keep their drivers aware of new developments and/or information. |
Operations
The Crime Watch vehicle, supplied and maintained by the Sheriff's Office, is operated daily. Drivers work two (2) hour shifts on a day and time of their preference, if available. A full membership meeting is held on the second Tuesday of every month, excluding summer months, at the Homosassa library.
